Whole Wheat Walnut Chocolate Chip Cookies

This recipe is a favorite amongst my family and friends. Packed with walnuts, rich chocolate, and wholesome whole wheat flour, it has a warm and hearty texture that’s perfect for the holidays (or anytime)!

What You'll Need
Ingredients
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 cup cane sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 sticks butter
- 1 ½ tsps baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt (only if using unsalted butter,
- otherwise omit)
- 1 cup dark chocolate chips
- 1 cup milk chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped and toasted walnuts
- 3 cups whole grain flour
- Sea salt flakes (optional)
Directions
Step 1
Cream butter with brown and cane sugar until it has a fluffy texture (either using a hand-held mixer, stand mixer, or manually with a wooden spoon).
Step 2
Add eggs one at a time while mixing until well combined. Mix in chocolate and nuts.
Step 3
Combine the rest of the dry ingredients.
Step 4
Place big scoops of dough on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake at 350 degrees until golden brown on the edges (about 8 minutes for smaller cookies and 12-15 minutes for larger cookies). Sprinkle with sea salt flakes.
Step 5
Cool and enjoy!
